Homeroom Parent Information
If you’re looking to get involved in the classroom, consider becoming a Homeroom Parent!

Here are some of the duties that our Parr Elementary homeroom parents are responsible for:
- Become a member of the PTA
- Complete CCISD’s background check
- Maintain communication with other Homeroom Parents and Homeroom Parent Coordinator
- Coordinate classroom basket donations for our Spring Family Dance Auction
- Coordinate help to notify parents of volunteer opportunities
- Coordinate teacher appreciation week decorating
- Delegate planning and preparation of class parties
- Assist your teacher with special projects or events
- Organize field day needs (i.e. snacks, blankets, canopies, etc.)
- Chaperone field trips
You will work together as a grade level so there is support and clear communication!
Indicate your interest with your child’s teacher on Meet the Teacher or the first day of school – look for the QR codes to scan! The HOMEROOM PARENT INTEREST FORM is also available here for you to fill out. If you have any questions, email homeroomcoord@parrpta.org
Yes. We require all Homeroom parents to be Parr PTA members. JOIN HERE.
Yes, we require that you are background checked since you are a volunteer who will be in the classroom. CLICK HERE to start the process.
Not at all! Most classes will have a second homeroom parent. We will have signups available for two people per classroom. You can also request help from parents ahead of time for the day of the event.
Our classroom registration fees we’ve implemented for the 2025-2026 school year will fund all of the class parties. There is no need to ask parents for money or supplies. Homeroom parents as a grade level will coordinate food, decorations, and games together.
